With the announcement of recreational cannabis in New York State, the family behind BK Greenery recognized that many large corporations would be jumping on the opportunity to take over our small and charismatic neighborhoods. However, Brooklyn’s charm lies in the fact that it’s been able to maintain a strong network of independent shops and businesses with friendly familiar faces that become engrained within the community. What would Flatbush Ave be without Juniors!?
Thus, gathered around the dinner table BK Greenery was founded in 2021 with the drive to create a warm and inviting shop that’s authentically Brooklyn.
The vision for BK Greenery is not only of a store, but of a space that supports the community knowing where we came from and where we are now. With philanthropic experience on the team, we will partner with local initiatives to help right the wrongs of the War on Drugs that plagued the Brooklyn community and still has lasting effects today.
As immigrants and first-generation Americans BK Greenery is committed to creating social change through the power of jobs, education and the empowerment of the people that make Brooklyn…Brooklyn.
